We are very excited to announce a small but very powerful update to the budgeting tool our existing customers already know and love. Now, in the Goalplan app, you can set budgets/targets to individual employees, stores, or teams by using automatically populated historical data.
One of our goals at Goalplan (no pun intended) is to ensure that our users can be flexible in how they not only use the app, but how they run their sales organization. Each company needs to set and measure targets differently, and the upgrade to the budgeting tool will hopefully improve the process for setting incremental budgets that lead to better growth over time.
We also always strive to support good leadership. That means better tools for communication and coaching, but it also starts with having the ability. With the new historical data feature, sales leaders can make decisions from each individual's outcome, instead of deploying a fixed company based one-for-all budget that doesn't account for differences in ability or previous performance.
Here's an example of how you can use the new functionality.
Let's say you are setting February targets for your team. What you can do now is choose to start with historical data. Just click "copy budget", choose from which time period, let's say the month of February of last year. Select if you want to use the target from this period or the outcome from this period, and lastly, you can choose to add or subtract a 5, 10, or 15 % difference on top of the previous target.
If you choose to use this new functionality, you are able to start from each employee's own capacity and then mutually agree on how to "grow."
“Whether you're a seasoned CEO or a first-time entrepreneur, you'll find Goalplan as a valuable tool, and the budget tool in particular. Before, I invested days in the budget process but today, I'm done before I have time to drink my morning coffee thanks to Goalpan. I'm comfortable to say that Goalplan brings great value to our business."
